The pressure and temperature distribution are determined in the extruder head by a sensor array. Furthermore, the viscosity is measured via conductivity and humidity by means of a laser. With the help of an IR array, the heat transfer of the plastic on the extruded part is measured, which is used to calculate the stiffness. Cameras determine the surface quality and lasers determine the tolerances. Optimal process parameters are determined by a self-learning software and automatically suggested.
